There's
an old world charm associated with historic City Market, located in the
Moore Square Arts District of downtown Raleigh. This small city square
where creative-types exploring art galleries mingle with families just
back from dinner. On the first Friday of every month, Moore Square thrives
on a burst of activity as galleries and restaurants cater to the
after-hours crowd. Across the street, Moore Square Park provides an urban
escape with its manicured landscaping and statue of a giant copper acorn
symbolizing the City of Oaks. The Moore Square district inspires Raleigh
to show its colors in a more diverse way, from the romance of
old-fashioned lamp posts and cobblestone streets to the after-hours
excitement spilling from live-music venues and local pubs.
